A good general inspection performed

1. Keep Tires Properly Inflated. Improve gas mileage by 3.3 percent by keeping the tires inflated to the proper pressure.

2. Perform Regular Tune-Ups. Regular vehicle maintenance improves gas mileage by an average of 4.1 percent.

3. Replace Air Filters Regularly. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve gas mileage by as much as 10 percent.

4. Replace Engine Oil Regularly. Dirty or substandard engine oil can reduce fuel economy by one mile per gallon.

5. Replace Spark Plugs Regularly. A dirty spark plug causes misfiring which wastes fuel, up to two miles per gallon.

6. Observe the Speed Limit. Gas mileage decreases rapidly above 60 miles per hour

7. Combine Trips. Several short trips taken from a cold start can use twice as much fuel as a longer multi-purpose trip covering the same distance.

8. Don’t Haul Unneeded Items. An extra 100 pounds in the trunk reduce fuel economy by 1-2 percent.

9. Avoid Quick Starts and Stops. Aggressive driving can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent on the highway and 5 percent in the city.

10. Avoid Excessive Idling. Idling gets 0 miles to the gallon! Letting your vehicle warm up for one or two minutes is sufficient.

This is a good mileage and time interval to insure your vehicle is in proper, safe working order. General inspections are also a quick and easy way to help prevent unnecessary repairs in the future. We provide this service as a courtesy for our loyal customers at no charge.
Our Free Courtesy Check includes, brake inspection, suspension inspection, inspection of the belts and hoses, and a check of the charging/starting system with our Interstate Battery tester.

 

IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO FIX
FADED AND CLOUDY HEADLIGHT LENSES?
Yes, we have a safe and economical solution to restore your headlight lenses to like new condition. Our BG’s Headlight Restoration service will clean and seal both headlight lenses.

 

HOW MUCH IS YOUR OIL CHANGE
AND WHAT DOES IT ENTAIL?
We believe that by changing your engine oil on a regular basis is not only ideal for your vehicle but it also the perfect opportunity to spend those few extra minutes making sure the rest of your car is ok. Which is why we call our oil changes a 3K Service, this simply means that our oil changes are part of your vehicles’ specific Scheduled Maintenance Plan.

This service is $39.77, includes parts, labor, tax, and up to 5qts of 10W 30 synthetic blend engine oil.

We will also gladly upgrade our regular customers to a 6K Service which includes a tire rotation Free of Charge every other oil change.

  • The Battery. This could be a potential weak point in cold weather as the temperature drops the power usually decreases as well. If your battery is more than three years old, it should be tested.
  • The Tires. Your tires must be properly inflated to ensure the best possible traction. The air pressure in your tires will drop as the temperature gets colder.
  • The Fluids. Now is the perfect time to check the fluid levels, anti-freeze, brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid and the engine oil level.
  • Visibility. With the short winter days, you will more than likely be spending more time driving in the dark and making sure you are able to see out and that others are able to see you is vital. Check wiper blade inserts, washer fluid, head lights, brake lights, turn signals and the heater/defroster.
